oh, come on...

sooooo, tanner has pneumonia - again. ggaaahhh!

poor guy! i took him in yesterday for his pre-op appointment (on tues. he's getting tubes in his ears) and after the dr. listened to his lungs for an unusually long time, she said that his left lung sounds awful. (thank goodness she didn't send us for x-rays - chest x-rays for babies look like some kind of futuristic plastic torture device that make me want to snatch my child and run out the door!!) so he's on antibiotics for the next 5 days and hopefully his lung will clear up enough for his surgery on tues. my kids are driving me crazy with the sicknesses - emma also has strep again and we go next month to see about getting her tonsils out (she's only had strep 5 times this winter...just like her mama used to!!) has anyone else ripped through their $1200 health expense account in 4 months??!?!

anyway, i finished my cna class today and i take my state/national exam on the 20th. should be loads of fun. chemistry starts next week and math after that. should be a pretty mellow summer (or so i'm hoping!!!)Y

girls on the run 5k

on saturday was mankato's first Girls on the Run event. kaylee ran her first 5k and i even got to run with her! we had over 200 participants which was incredible for our first community event! we raised tons of money and more importantly we got to spread the word about Girls on the Run. here are some highlights from our day.

we had so much fun. we couldn't have asked for better weather, everything fell into place the morning of, so many wonderful volunteers - what a perfect day!!!Y

my baby is 2....wwaaahhh!!!

i can't believe my baby is 2 years old already! (well, now he's 2 and one month...slacking yet again on the blogging!!) since he's our last, everything seems so final and i've been thoroughly enjoying his baby-ness and at the same time soooo looking forward to getting rid of the crib, car seat, daipers(oohhh-yeeaaahhh), binky, sippies, etc.

he really is an easy-going, happy-go-lucky, lovey-dovey kid. he was worth every minute of anesthesia-free c-section!!! (yes, you read that right...)

yeah, yeah, yeah...

i know i've been slacking royally in the blogging and facebook department. i just started my cna class which is a pretty intense 4 credit class crammed into 4 weeks. that and our camera bit the dust and i can't get aaron to commit to a new one. also the girls on the run 5k event is coming up fast and i have a 2 year old who destroys everything in his path everytime i log on...speaking of which - gotta go!!! i really can't wait for summer!!!Y

our little sickie...

tanner has had a rough winter...to put it mildly. we all have had more than our share of illnesses this winter - i'm blaming it on the sub-zero temps that mankato stays in most of the winter. tanner however has had many ear infections, strep, pneumonia and a nearly constant cold/runny nose/cough. this past weekend aaron took him to the e.r. because i was sure he had pneumonia again (his breathing was clocked at 45-50 breaths/min.). turns out it was just a severe ear infection (which by the way, is not getting better - he had his "well" check today which ended up with more antibiotics, 2 shots, a referral to the ent and early intervention for speech therapy - gaaahhh!!)

anyway, last week (before the ear infection) he got hives all over his body...random!! they were gone within 24hrs. whatever!!!Y

wisconsin dells

okay - time to play some catch-up with blogging. does life ever get any less chaotic? i didn't think so...

here are a few pictures of our wisconsin dells trip with the mcpheters. we sayed at the chula vista resort and was the perfect place for a family getaway in the middle of winter. we didn't get very many pictures, probably because we were having too much fun. the kids loved the water park (okay, so did us grown-ups) and aaron and i especially enjoyed the free fancy-schmancy dinner we had with justin and katrina - not to mention the separate bedroom without kids...

like i said, i wish we took more pictures...but oh well. it was fun!Y
