christmas miracle!

i just had to take pics of the kids in their sunday best! they looked so cute today! i am such a lucky mom!

santa!!!

we've procrastinated a lot of christmas stuff this year (mainly because carrie needed to finish finals before she could even think about christmas chaos!) we finally went yesterday to visit santa so the kids could tell him what they want. here's the list:

kaylee - snowglobe (really?)
emma - baby alive
dallin - skateboard
tanner - toy

so, i think my kids are in tune with the economy, dontcha think? i'm not complaining...

the end of another girls on the run season

well, kaylee finished another season of girls on the run - tara was her coach again, which was great. she did such an awesome job! here are some pics of the 5k event - we had it at the MSU indoor track. we had a great turnout and the girls did fabulous!!

tanner found a new hat

this time daddy got to run with her

the first jeffrey kid with stitches...

soooo...i think the ER staff must know us by name at this point.

dallin was sitting on the back of the chaise lounge (which is facing away from the computer nook - he was watching something that tanner was doing on the computer) - anyway, aaron saw him fall out of the corner of his eye and all of a sudden he is screaming (head down, feet up) behind the lounge. aaron grabbed him by the feet and yanked him up to find a lot of blood gushing out of dallin's eyebrow. he smacked it on the corner of the ledge just right as to split it down to the bone. after a lot of panicking and rushing around, aaron finally got him into the car to head to the hospital. when he got to the ER, it looked like this:

i know this is gross...he actually didn't cry at all in the ER - even when the numbing/cleansing stuff they put in it didn't take to the bottom half of the laceration. aaron noticed he was tensing up and had to ask him if it hurt. they had to give him a couple of shots so they could finish sewing him up. he came home around 10pm with 8 stitches and a chocolate shake from mcdonald's.

this is what it looked like the next morning

he's still cute! (aaron says it will make him look "rugged" and "manly" when he's grown - whatever!)

oh christmas tree...

our tradition the day after christmas is not to go shopping, but to go cut down our christmas tree. we really miss granger's tree farm in mexico, ny - it was the perfect tree-cutting tradition for not a lot of cash. we've found the experience in minnesota to be less than stellar and more expensive...but it is a tradition...

this year christina came down from the twin cities to have thanksgiving with us and to join in our tree tradition. it was fun to have her here!

and there it is...

christina with emma, kaylee and dallin

the whole family (not sure what kind of gang signs emma's throwing)

tanner wasn't quite sure about the whole thing...he spent most of the time tripping over stuff

halloween

we had a fun halloween! our ward had a trunk-or-treat on the wednesday before the big day, but i stayed home with tanner because he had a severe ear infection (thank goodness for the tubes - his ear drum would have burst!!) aaron took the kids and they had a blast! here are some pics from halloween day (i couldn't get dallin to hold still long enough to take his picture, but you can kind of see part of his costume in the one of kaylee.)

kaylee was maid marian with some sort of sai action going on...

emma was a ninja warrior chick

and tanner was diego (this is the third year in a row we've used this one...)

first day of school

the mcpheters!!!

the mcpheters came up from chicago over labor day weekend. we sure miss them, so it was nice to have some relaxed vacation time with them. here are some pics from our trip to minneopa state park (which is right here in mankato!)

the rest of that blasted trip...

after saying goodbye to friends and family in california, we drove back to utah to spend a couple more days with the jeffrey side of the family. while we were there, we got to visit with our good friends, the sandbergs.

these girls have been friends since they were all in diapers!

not much has changed!

me and one of my best friends, sharon

the girls set up a lemonade stand in front of grandma and grandpa jeffrey's house

we also got to visit my aunts and their families - here emma is reading to two of my cousins

all the cute kids!

the next day we had family pictures and then headed to the water park in american fork. we ended up having to leave because of rain, but the kids were tired anyways and they still had tons o' fun!

that's it! now we can get on to bigger and better blogging...

goodbye for now california...

after great america, we spent the next day relaxing, packing, getting haircuts from my mom and i got to visit lots of my friends.

hmmm...his expression is the same getting his haircut by mom or by grandma

man...those clippers must be torture!

kaylee got her hair chopped off!

and claire kept us company with her smiles!

that afternoon my friend kristie and her mom cooked us lunch. it was quite the feat to keep the kids from destroying her smithsonian-like house!

then we stopped by my friend rene's house

after that we stopped by the clarke's house and i visited with lynda for a while, but again i forgot to take pictures...apparently emma didn't...
